Our MRI-First Diagnostic Pathway Imaging before biopsy, not after
We follow an MRI-first pathway, which reflects current best practice. Rather than moving straight from a raised PSA to biopsy, we use imaging and occasionally the Stockholm-3 test to decide whether a biopsy is needed at all, and to guide it precisely if it is.
PSA blood test
A simple blood test measuring prostate-specific antigen, an early indicator of prostate health.
Prostate MRI
A high-resolution multi-parametric MRI scan, reported by specialists who read prostate imaging every day, to identify and map any areas of concern.
Stockholm-3 test
An advanced blood test for men aged 45 to 74 which estimates the risk of clinically-significant prostate cancer by combining multiple protein biomarkers, genetic markers and clinical background factors such as family history and age.
Targeted biopsy
If required, an MRI-guided, targeted biopsy samples the right areas first time, which can mean fewer invasive tests and a clearer path to a decision.
