Professor Eden has performed more than 4,000 prostatectomies using minimally invasive techniques and has practised keyhole surgery for prostate cancer since 2000. He introduced a modification of the Retzius-sparing approach, which is associated with an earlier return of urinary continence, and he collects and publishes his own outcomes in peer-reviewed journals. He performs every operation personally: the surgeon who plans your treatment is the surgeon who carries it out.

Dr Haigh has worked alongside Professor Eden as a consultant anaesthetist for more than 30 years and anaesthetises the majority of his cases, so the team in theatre is a settled one rather than a rota. Outside the hospital she is a qualified horse riding instructor and competes regularly at local and national level.
